What is Gearbox? How many are there?

I don't think anyone has forgotten the main features of the car gearbox. Can you imagine a car without a gearbox? It will be slow, unstable, and very noisy. Also, you may not know that the gearbox stabilizes the engine. Without a gearbox, the engine and other components of the car would be subjected to tremendous stress.
Undoubtedly, the first question is what is the gearbox of the car? A gearbox is a mechanical component that is used to change the speed (RPM) and increase the torque of the motor in layman's terms. Now about the location of the gearbox in the car, it is connected to the motor from one end. The shaft of the motor is connected to the gearbox by gears. The gear ratio will determine the speed and torque.
But why does it have to be a car with a gearbox? to stabilize and maintain engine speed. The gearbox maintains engine speed under external conditions, vehicle speed, and load. So, in a nutshell, the gearbox helps to keep your car moving at a higher speed.
Sliding Gearbox – Said to be a simple gearbox form, a sliding meshing gearbox has spur gears. On the spindle, there are three gears, while the other four are connected to the countershaft.
Constant Mesh Gearbox – As the name suggests, all the gears here are continuously meshed. All gears are helical gears except for reverse gears. Here, a claw clutch is used to engage and disengage the gears.
Synchronous Gearbox – Synchronous gearbox has a synchronizer device similar to the above type. Synchronous meshing transmissions use synchronizers to change gear ratios instead of sliding claw clutches. The two gears engage in frictional contact to equalize the speed.
You must still be wondering how exactly my car's gearbox works? As mentioned earlier, the gearbox assembles various components such as gears, transmission mechanisms, and mechanical sleeves. When we talk about gears in gearboxes, it comes in different sizes. This is due to the need for torque variation in the vehicle due to external conditions such as roads and terrain.
The first gear in a gearbox car has the maximum torque output. This is also the biggest one. Therefore, first gear is used for slopes and other climbing terrain. The output ratio of the gear decreases from the first to the last. Therefore, first gear is used for slopes and other climbing terrain.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that in a standard gearbox, there are two sets of input and output gears. When we press the shift sleeve towards the selected gear, it locks onto the spindle and rotates.
